Praça do Comércio
An Engagement in Lisbon
A short gown in three-dimensional florals, the empty arch at dawn, and two columns at the edge of the water.
The square before anyone is in it
Praça do Comércio belongs to the tourists by nine. Before that it is the largest empty room in Lisbon, and the arch at the top of it will hold a single figure without any help.
We finished at the Cais das Colunas, where the steps go into the Tejo between two columns — which is as close as a city gets to a frame built on purpose.
