Martha & Eitam

A gilded church in the morning, confetti on the steps, and the walk down to the sea that finished the day.

The dress that had to walk

Martha's gown was made for a day that moved. Vows under gilt woodwork, confetti in the street, a procession of guests down a hill in August, and then the coast road — so it was cut clean, in a weight that would not wilt, with a skirt she could gather in one hand.

That is the difference between a dress photographed on a stand and a dress worn for fourteen hours. Both matter. Only one of them is the point.
