The Pink Flower Dress

One dress, one afternoon, and every bougainvillea in Lisbon: blush tulle under hand-applied three-dimensional florals.

Flowers on flowers

The florals on this gown are made in the atelier, petal by petal, then applied by hand so the density changes as it falls — crowded at the shoulder, thinning across the skirt, so the dress reads as a garden rather than a pattern.

Photographing it against real bougainvillea was a risk: put made flowers next to living ones and any shortcut shows. It held.
